SUMMARY:Handling Conflict Constructively – Two Day Introductory Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Open to clergy and LLMs. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first‑come\, first‑served basis. \n\n\n\nFacing times of tension and conflict can be challenging\, particularly for those in leadership\, as we deal with our own anxieties as well as those of others. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is designed to equip you as a leader within your church enabling you to face situations of conflict with greater confidence and resilience. Including presentation\, reflection and hands-on skills training\, the workshop aims to provide opportunities: \n\n\n\n\nTo transform your attitude towards conflict and engaging with conflict\, so that you are able to face conflict more constructively\, and to model that attitude for others\n\n\n\nTo learn more about patterns of behaviour in the face of tension\n\n\n\nTo equip you with practical skills for communication when emotions run high and for working with conflict as a leader\, so that you can engage with conflict more confidently in future\n\n\n\n\nPlease note that you’ll be signing up to attend both days of this course (30 September – 1 October 2026 9.30am-4.15pm). SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid
DESCRIPTION:Open to clergy – funded by Clergy Support Trust. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first‑come\, first‑served basis. \n\n\n\nMental Health First Aid course empowers MHFAiders to play a critical role in supporting people’s mental health and creating healthy working environments. \n\n\n\nThe course is ideal for anyone who’d like to gain the knowledge and skills to spot the signs of someone experiencing poor mental health\, be confident to start a conversation\, and signpost them to appropriate support. \n\n\n\nMHFAiders receive three years of certification and are invited to join the Association of Mental Health First Aiders – England’s first and only membership body for MHFAiders. As well as access to ongoing learning and expert support\, members gain the benefits of being part of a national movement for better mental health. \n\n\n\nAs an MHFAider you’ll be able to: \n\n\n\n\nRecognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention\n\n\n\nEncourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports\n\n\n\nPractise active listening and empathy\n\n\n\nHave a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma\n\n\n\nDiscuss the MHFAider role in depth\, including boundaries and confidentiality\n\n\n\nPractise self-care\n\n\n\nKnow how to use the MHFAider Support App\n\n\n\nKnow how to access a dedicated text service provided by Shout and ongoing learning opportunities with MHFA England\n\n\n\n\nPlease note that you’ll be signing up to attend both days of this course (6-7 October 2026 9am-5pm). DESCRIPTION:In the company of an expert faith-informed facilitator\, this training will explore the specific ministry context\, and develop the skills participants need to deal with conflict in the best way. \n\n\n\nParticipants will: \n\n\n\n\nDiscover how conflict often arises and how it can be resolved\n\n\n\nUnderstand the principles of building a healthy team\n\n\n\nRecognise how past life experiences can impact working relationships\n\n\n\nDevelop listening skills to support team relations\n\n\n\nGain confidence in having difficult conversations\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will also learn that a healthy team is not absent of conflict\, but rather one that is able to address conflict when it arises\, and find creative\, constructive ways to move forward together. \n\n\n\nContact Elena Taraban for more information >>> \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue: Old Alresford Place
